Backup possibilities at HIH

Currently, there are two options for backing up local, personal data:

1. Copy the data to your home directory on the HIH fileserver. Here an automated regular backup is running.
   We recommend for local desktop computers working in the home drive h:
2. Install the program Urbackup on your computer. Contact hih-it@uni-tuebingen.de to get registered for this service.
   We recommend this for laptops.
   (Note: Eduroam blocks this backup)

Backup of the group drives.

There are regular backups for the group drive. The type of backup depends on the server on which the data is stored (department's own server, HIH server, ZDV server).
